Another Magic Mouse design disaster by Apple: the Liquid Glass UI. Fans are really pushing the limits to stay excited about it. Influencers have already shared their concerns. But we’ve got a different theory. We think there’s a bigger plan behind it.
Apple WWDC25
Everyone’s talking about the recent WWDC25 event. It’s kind of a tradition now for Apple’s SVP, Craig Federighi, to start the show with even more creative ways, and this year was no different. Plus, we got the usual round of software updates across Apple’s lineup.
We’re all waiting on this year’s iPad update, which now looks like it can finally replace your MacBook Air. Apple’s also changing how they name their operating systems. From now on, every OS will use the year instead of version numbers. And yeah, there were other cool updates too, like the new Siri and macOS Tahoe.
Liquid Glass UI
Now, about this new UI called Liquid Glass. Well, it’s been all over the internet. You’ve probably seen the screenshots floating around from influencers. Let’s be real: it’s rough. Not only are there big readability issues, but it just doesn’t feel like Apple. That iconic good look? Kinda gone.

And that’s surprising, because Apple has always been about making things beautiful. They’re trendsetters. So why would a team like that design something like this? Of course, there is a simple explanation for it. It’s still under development, and these are just demos. The final version? Probably will be way better. But we’ve got another theory.
The real reason behind Liquid Glass
We think Apple’s doing something much bigger here. Like prepping users for Vision Pro, or even a future product like Apple Glass or iGlass. Because yeah, we’re pretty sure those are coming. And when they do, the UI will need to blend with reality.
So to make that a norm in the future, Apple started with this “Liquid Glass” baby steps. Apple has done this before. Remember Animoji? That wasn’t just for fun; it got us used to Face ID. Vision Pro feels so natural because we’ve been playing with ARKit for years.
It’s kind of Apple’s signature move. They don’t just drop something totally new and expect you to adapt. They warm you up slowly. So by the time the big release happens, it already feels familiar.
The next generation of devices is going to be wild. One day, we won’t just carry our phones. Alongside our smartwatch, smart glasses might be the next must-have. And this UI? It’s just Apple laying the groundwork.
Wrap up
Apple has shaped the tech world in so many ways—from personal computers to the phone in your pocket. So even if Liquid Glass feels off now, there’s probably more to it than we realize. That said… I still have no clue what they’re thinking with the Magic Mouse. That one’s just silly.
